Columbia Bible College Announces Opening for Academic Dean

As a Christ-centered Bible College, Columbia seeks to equip people for a life of discipleship, ministry and leadership in service to the church and community.  Due to a retirement, Columbia has an exciting opportunity for the right individual to become part of shaping its present and future role in Christian post-secondary education by serving on its senior leadership team in the capacity of Academic Dean. The Academic Dean provides leadership in translating the vision and philosophy of Columbia into a dynamic community of learning, ensuring that the College provides quality programming and faculty.

Situated in the heart of the Fraser Valley, Columbia has an 80 year history of graduating students that have gone on to establish influential ministries and successful careers, all while sharing the Gospel and love of Jesus with others. Columbia offers a holistic education that’s rooted in Scripture and augmented by a culturally relevant curriculum and enriching practical applications. Columbia provides faith formation and professional ministry preparation for Christians of all ages and numerous denominational backgrounds as well as supports churches of the region in the fulfillment of God’s mission. Columbia offers a variety of Bachelor of Arts Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates as well as articulation credits with a number of post-secondary institutions.

The Academic Dean position requires an active Christian faith, engagement in church life and ministry, as well as solid commitment to the mission, goals and values of the College.  Selection is basis on spiritual, personal, administrative, and academic qualifications. The following qualifications are seen as essential: an earned doctorate, with some graduate work in Biblical or theological education, an ability to organize work and teams, and strong verbal and written communication skills. At least 5 years of successful experience in educational administrative leadership, along with a proven track record in planning, team-leadership, teaching, and assessment are all vitally important.
