June 5th was a beautiful day for the 18th Annual Columbia Open Fundraising Golf Tournament with blue sky and warm weather for golfers to enjoy.
The day started with a tasty tailgate lunch and a shotgun start at noon. With over 130 golfers on the course, Redwoods Golf Course was a sight to behold. They took to the course driving, pitching and putting their golf balls over hundreds of yards stopping for pizza, cookies, iced coffee and other treats along the way. Many prizes were competed for throughout the day with KP’s, Mega Put and Longest Drives! There were also three opportunities to win a hole-in-one but sadly, no golfer was able to complete that, so the car, $30,000 and diamonds will have to wait for next year!
After an exhilarating day, golfers enjoyed a filling steak dinner and EVERY foursome went home with great prizes. One lucky golfer went home with the President’s prize – a beautiful bbq and grill stone donated by Blackwoods and Concorde Distributing! The day came to a close with a story from a current CBC student sharing how God has been at work in his life and an address from President Bryan Born, thanking CBC sponsors for their continued support and inviting golfers to join in the mission of Columbia Bible College. Over $6,000 was generously donated during the dinner adding to the $80,000 raised through the tournament. Thank You!
